- Explain the causes, events, and outcomes of the Sokoto Jihad, the decline of the Oyo Empire, and the British invasion of Benin.
- Trace how the British used treaties, diplomacy, and warfare to colonise Nigerian territories, including the effects of the 1914 amalgamation.
- Discuss the roles of nationalist movements and key figures in Nigeria’s struggle for independence, and examine the parliamentary system of the First Republic.
- Analyse the impact of military intervention in Nigeria’s governance from 1966 to 1985, highlighting major reforms, conflicts, and transitions.
