Course Description:
This Home Economics course for Basic 8 learners introduces students to essential skills for managing themselves and their immediate environment, from personal responsibility to the care of different home surfaces and spaces. Learners will gain practical knowledge that promotes cleanliness, orderliness, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to family and community life.
What You Will Learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify and explain the qualities of a good homemaker with at least three examples of personal responsibilities within the family.
- Describe and demonstrate proper cleaning methods for at least three common household surfaces (wood, glass, and floors).
- Apply safe and effective care practices in maintaining the bedroom, kitchen, and surroundings by carrying out at least two cleaning tasks in each area.
- Differentiate between the uses and care of household materials such as wood and glass, giving at least two examples each.
- Design a simple weekly cleaning routine for a one-room apartment that promotes hygiene and healthy living.
