Basic Science
Course Description:
This Basic Science course introduces learners to the structure and functions of major body systems, basic chemistry concepts, physical science principles, and practical environmental and agricultural topics. Through engaging activities and real-life examples, students will explore how science applies to the human body,
energy, machines, and the world around them.
What You Will Learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify and describe the major systems of the human body including the skeletal, digestive, and respiratory systems.
- Explain the basic properties of oxygen and hydrogen, and how rusting occurs through a chemical process.
- Measure and convert different forms of energy, and relate the concepts of work, energy, and power to everyday tasks.
- Demonstrate understanding of simple machines and how they make work easier through hands-on activities.
- Analyze the causes and effects of erosion and flooding, and evaluate practical methods for food preservation and environmental protection.
