This course introduces you to the basics of crop and animal production. You will explore soil management, crop propagation,
cultural practices,
weeds, pests, and diseases. The course also covers animal feeding, husbandry, and disease control for better farm productivity.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the meaning and importance of agriculture to individuals, communities, and the nation, and describe how proper soil management practices contribute to sustainable farming and increased productivity.
- Perform simple soil experiments such as testing for porosity and percolation, record your observations, and interpret the results to understand soil characteristics and their effects on crop growth.
- Differentiate between sexual and asexual methods of crop propagation, giving examples of crops grown by each method, and explain the advantages and disadvantages of both.
- Identify common weeds, pests, and crop diseases found in farms and gardens, and discuss practical methods of controlling them to ensure healthy crop production.
- Discuss proper methods of feeding and caring for farm animals, identify common animal diseases, and explain effective ways of preventing and controlling these diseases to promote healthy livestock management.
