Course Description:
In this course, you will explore physical fitness, sports, traditional games, and healthy living by learning about physical education in ancient societies, modern sports in Nigeria, and how the human body works. You will develop physical skills, health awareness, teamwork, and positive habits that support lifelong well-being.
What You Will Learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe at least three ways physical education was practised in ancient nations and explain their relevance to modern physical fitness during guided class activities.
- Demonstrate correct hurdling techniques and basic handball skills with at least 70% accuracy during practical lessons.
- Identify and label major bones, joints, and articulations of the human skeleton and explain their functions in movement using diagrams or models.
- Participate actively in at least two traditional Nigerian sports or social dances, showing teamwork, coordination, and respect for cultural values.
- Explain the dangers of drug abuse and outline at least three healthy lifestyle choices that promote physical and mental well-being in a written or oral assessment.
